Physicochemical property

This product is light yellow transparent liquid. Melting point 254-256 °C(lit.) Boiling point bp0.03 93° Density 1.25 (14% aq.) Isothiazolinone is an excellent water treatment agent with good miscibility, which can be miscible with various corrosion inhibitors such as chlorine, scale inhibitors and dispersants, and most of the negative, cationic and non-ionic surfactants. Commercially available products are usually a mixture of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMI) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MI), with metal nitrite or nitrate added to improve stability and prevent decomposition. The mechanism of action of isothiazolinone is to kill bacteria and algae by breaking the protein bond, and after contact with microorganisms, it can rapidly and irreversibly inhibit their growth, resulting in the death of microbial cells, and has a strong inhibition and killing effect on common bacteria (sulfate reducing bacteria, sludge forming bacteria), fungi (iron oxidizing bacteria, mold, yeast), algae, etc. It has the characteristics of high killing efficiency, good degradation, no residue, safe operation, good compatibility, strong stability and low use cost. At high doses, it has a significant effect on biological slime stripping, and has been widely used in iron and steel smelting, oil field water injection, thermal power generation, paper making, oil refining, chemical industry, textile, industrial cleaning, pesticides, cutting oil water-based coatings, daily chemical, ink, dyes, leather and other fields.
